"WildFire" Horse painting,  wins Gold at the Silver Arts competition in Forsyth County.

This painting along with its pair, "Best Friends" continue to be on display through the month of June.  You can visit this originals at the Forsyth County public Library, main campus, at their art gallery.   Both paintings remain available for sale on my website. @pattysArtStudio.com .

This win allowed me to speak on the inspiration of this painting. I was able to tell of  the efforts of Photographers, Susie Bell and Gayle Major Bassani, in their attempt to give attention to the beautiful wild horses of Salt River in Arizona; and the desire to keep the horses free.  Apparently land management at times round up the horses.  We have wild horses in NC, I am inspired to learn more of them, as well.   I love painting these horses, and have used these ladies beautiful photographs to paint several ponies in the herd. Both ladies as well as the Arizona Salt River wild Horses, have social media presence that can easily be found.

In this painting, I used acrylics and then layered wit oil paints.  I used graphite to increase the dust and textured appearance. This was a new technique for me.  The second painting, matches in colors shade and subject, it is a painting of two horses together.  "Best Friends" is an animal  portrait.  The 2 horses look at each other, with a bond.  These wild horses have an active lifestyle, splashing, fighting, mating and being beautiful in the desert background.   I try to show these creatures active nature in my paintings.

Animals are an enjoyable subject to paint.  I plan to continue to paint nature and Gods glory.  I am hoping these paintings, help bring attention to the conservation efforts.  Please follow me on my social media avenues, or sign up for my newsletter at my website, to see other paintings I have completed, or new artwork.
